Electronic Arts have announced the worldwide availability of a new take on its classic Wing Commander franchise with Wing Commander Arena for the Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday, July 25. Up to 16 space pilots can take to the stars and blast opposing ships in a number of ways -- single player, multi-team, multiplayer duel and multiplayer free for all.

Wing Commander Arena takes the classic space combat game in a much more action-oriented direction, where dueling teams can pilot up to eight ships, each with their own unique assets. With 16-player play, Wing Commander Arena offers the largest multi-player melee experience to date. Players can propel their ships through space, fire torpedoes and unleash deadly particle cannons as they try to climb the leader board.

Today Ubisoft announced that it will be releasing CSI:Crime Scene Investigation Hard Evidence for the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii come fall 2007. This release marks the first time CSI fans will be able to play a CSI video game on theXbox 360 and Wii. Players will be able to use the Wii Remote to navigate through a crime scene, or experience cinematic-style graphics on the Xbox 360. The user interface has been completely redone with a console audience in mind, making the game more like the show than ever. The PC version of Hard Evidence will ship simultaneously with the Xbox 360 and Wii.

A Take-Two spokesperson has confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that the episodic content planned for Grand Theft Auto IV will be exclusively released for the Xbox 360.

Talk of an exclusive deal began following the release of Take-Two's Q2 financial report on Tuesday. The report stated that the episodic content would be released on 360 during the 2008 fiscal year - with no mention of PlayStation 3.

For those who enjoy intergalactic space shooters this is for you. Project Sylpheed has made its way onto the Xbox Live Marketplace today weighing in at a somewhat beefy 600 MB.

The Xbox 360 hasn't really seen its fair share of Eastern developed titles or even space shooters for that matter. Project Sylpheed is scheduled for release this July at a $40 price point.

Although published by Square Enix in Japan, Project Sylpheed has been taken under the wing of Microsoft for the American audience.
